Beamline 21-ID-F: Sector 21 - Insertion Device

LS-CAT
Life Sciences

Description

LS-CAT, APS Sector 21 is a canted undulator beamline with the downstream undulator providing fixed energy X-rays to two stations via diamond Laue monochromators. Flux on 21-ID-F is 10-15% higher than on 21-ID-G since it is the first monochromator in series. Energy is fixed near 12.7 keV to enable selenium SAD phasing.

Supported Techniques

  • Macromolecular crystallography

Beamline Controls and Data Acquisition

Arinax MD3-UP diffractometer software (with LS-CAT developed extensions) for sample mounting, centering, diagnostics, and data collection. VME EPICS/MEDM low-level interface, PMAC motion control, and Linux workstations for data collection and processing.

Detectors

  • Dectris EIGER 9M

Additional Equipment

  • MD3-UP microdiffractometer
  • UR robotic sample changer supporting UniPuck standard
