Beamline 13-ID-C,D: Sector 13 - Insertion Device

Description

Undulator beamline specialized for earth and environmental science research at high pressure and at surface interfaces.

Beamline Controls and Data Acquisition

EPICS for instrument and detector control.  SPEC for interface diffraction.  IDL and Python software for single-crystal diffraction, mapping and analysis.

  • Vortex single-element and 4-element SDD detectors (2)
  • Pilatus3X 1M CdTe
  • Pilatus 100K
  • Princeton Instruments spectrometers and CCD cameras

Additional Equipment

  • Newport general purpose diffractometer (13-ID-C)
  • Diamond-anvil cell with double-sided laser heating (13-ID-D)
  • Two 100-watt fiber lasers, 200-watt CO2 lasers
  • Laser Raman system online and in support laboratory; VIS and NIR spectroscopy online and in support lab
  • 1000 ton multi-anvil press with DIA and T-cup tooling
  • 230 ton Paris Edinburgh Press
  • Laser Ultrasonic System in support lab
  • Sample preparation (laser cutting, micromanipulator, polishing, etc.)
